About Artistic Impressions

This site was birthed due to an incredible amount of art work NOT featuring my little Dachshund Molly sitting on my Hard Drive.  LOL I was amazed at how much art I actually had created without her in it. 
I am a member of a pet forum, and a group of pet enthusiast on FaceBook so I didn't have a real audience to showcase this work for.  As they say an idea was formed, and Artistic Impressions was born from a desire to display this art. 
As far as sharing a little about myself, I'm from North Carolina and have lived here most of my life.  I grew up in the country and still live on what's left of my family's farm.  Things have changed and aren't quite as rural here as they were growing up. Some of the more country flavored art I create  may show a bit of nostalgia and longing for a simpler time. 
I started out taking a few classes in Photoshop after we got Molly.  I became hooked.  The more I learned in Photoshop the more I wanted to learn and one thing lead to another.  After years of learning how to use one plug-in after another, I wanted to learn another Digital Art application so I bought Corel Painter.  This program was almost my undoing as it was  a very challenging application for me to learn to use.  After reading several books and watching many a video I can now accomplish what I want in Painter.  I will never be able to use this program to it's full potential but I will say it's an amazing tool and you get stunning results with it.  I highly recommend Photoshop and Corel Painter to any one serious about learning digital art.
